How can more people be brought online?

Storylines about the internet in soap operas can help to get "unconnected" UK adults online, Martha Lane Fox says. Is this a good idea?

Ms Lane Fox, the UK's Digital Inclusion Champion, is trying to get Britain's four million poorest citizens to sign up to the internet. She said many do not realise that being online can save them money and boost lifetime earnings.

Speaking on the BBC's HARDtalk programme, she said there are still 10 million people in the UK who have never used the internet. She added that she believes it will not be possible to be a proper citizen in future without being online.
